If like me you prefer to leave certain things to the imagination, favouring the erotic rather than the pornographic, then Destination Sex City is a DVD to check out.
A compilation of nine short erotic films that fuse animation, art, graphic design and pornography into a visual indulgence unlike any other. Stylishly designed and packaged [...]

Solar heats up Goldfrapp
Trying to find time to process and post on the amazing advancedbeauty.com project. In the meantime, came across Solar, a lovely experimental video (audio = Lovely Head by Goldfrapp) by flight404, one of the contributors to that dvd/sound-moving image installation project.

Volume filled by UVA
Long being a fan of UnitedVisualArtists (see the interview in an older post), its great to see their work standing in it’s own right, rather than in service to concert environments, etc. Volume at the V&A hits all the right notes for an advanced environmental moving image.

Call for creators: plastic.tv video art
Couple of years ago, I did a test DVD, Flare, for an ambient visuals product. We had fun building a prototype but it was too early to market.
Now plastic.tv feels like it is at the right time to capitalize on this area. plastic.tv is a nifty niche video-on-demand portal for video art that plays [...]
Colder and UVA dance To The Music
Colder’s To The Music video by UVA is a striking promo treatment where sound and image are totally in keeping with each other. I’ve worked with and commissioned pieces from Colder’s Marc Nguyen Tan previously (he has a background as an art director, creating impressive graphic and motion pieces as Dotmov and le cabinet), [...]
Best visuals by a VJ/generative filmmaker 2005
From the ultra-minimalist, to the maximalist, the spontaneous and the ultra-considered:
Addictive TV
Eclectic Method
Hexstatic
Karl Kliem
UVA
Eclectic Method limited iPod download
Eclectic Method have released for a fortnight only, a mobile viewing ready version of the DVD:

A 35 minute mobile-ready mashup of their greatest visual hits, Eclectic Method’s freeform cut and paste style is crowd pleasing in the extreme. Go get it while you can. It’s just [...]
Best motion graphics of 2005
I’ve deliberately taken a step back after years immersed in motion graphics so I haven’t drawn on such extensive knowledge as I might have in the past for my Best motion graphics of 2005. With this caveat in place, the shortlist is thus:
Lightborne
Foret Bleue
nakd
Eduoard Salier
Arvind Palep
More live action/photorealistic hybrids here compared to the abstract tendency [...]
